A New Pool for West Beach

Recently we received an email from Sam, of Hobart, who was on his way to Perth via Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, and Adelaide.  He asked what park would be best for he and his family to base themselves at whilst in Adelaide on their way through to Perth. image
Firstly, thanks Sam for the email, its always great to hear from people that read and enjoy our site.  Having stayed at all the local Parks in and near Adelaide, it would be hard to suggest any park other than the Big 4 at Adelaide Shores Caravan Park.  Especially if you have children of any age.   There are some other great parks around Adelaide, but Adelaide Shores has a lot to offer, and is well located to not only the beach but the city, Adelaide Airport, Harbour Town, and Glenelg to name a few.    image
We hadn’t been to Adelaide Shores for about a year, so took this opportunity to head down there and check out the new revamped Pool area.  Well what a great improvement, the two pools have been removed to accommodate one large pool, that was still being heated (May.)  It was proving to be very popular throughout the weekend.  This had been a great improvement to the previous pools that were a little small for the size of the park, and a little outdated.
The games room has also had a revamp, and now has a dedicated toddlers area (pin code required) complete with an indoor play space.  Multiple TV show a variety of programs, just not sure how you listen to your chosen program.
If you’re feeling up to it, and the kids have their bikes, Glenelg is only a 4 kilometre walk away.
Apart from the cost of this park it is hard to fault.  Weekend stay for 2 is $40 for a powered site, each child is an additional $12 up, depending on the session.
